Choral Evensong for the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist

 

A service of Choral Evensong from St. Paul’s, to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist.

The canticles are those set by George Dyson in C minor, and the Responses those set for men’s voices by John Bertalot. The anthem is the ‘Kyrie Eleison’ from Jean Langlais’ ‘Messe Solennelle’, sung by ‘The New Chamber Singers’ during a live recording at St. Paul’s on 1 March 1996. The service closes with Jean Langlais’ ‘Chant Heroique’ for organ, played by our Organist, Stefano Vasselli, on the organ of Marcussen og Søn, Skt. Hans kirke, Odense, Denmark.
