The Joel Nafuma Refugee Center began as an outreach ministry of St. Paul’s in 1982. Since then the ministry has expanded, and now caters to the needs of around 250 refugees every day, offering breakfast, toiletries and clothing distribution, education, therapy and integration programs.
The JNRC is managed by St. Paul’s but has its own mission statement and independent budget; the Rector and Vestry have oversight. For more information on the JNRC and its programs, including how you can get involved, please visit the JNRC’s own website at www.jnrc.it.

The Joel Nafuma Refugee Center presents
AFGHAN COOKERY CLASS
The JNRC is starting a new venture to raise funds for the Center, as well as to promote Afghani food and culture.
Amin Rahim, Head Chef at the Roma Kabul restaurant, and Elizabeth Greenfield, a Prue Leith trained professional chef from the UK, are coming together to create a 3-hour cookery lesson on Afghan steamed ravioli (mantu), vegetarian dumplings (ashak) and a favorite ancient Persian dessert, Baklawa.
Lessons will be held in the professional catering kitchen on the second floor of St Paul’s Within the Walls Rectory, and all students will have an opportunity to learn, eat the finished product, and take away the recipes afterwards.
Two sessions every Monday, @11:00-14:00 and @16:00-19:00.
€49 per person, includes class, recipes, and a meal prepared by you!
First sessions to be held on 23rd October, 2017.
All profits to go to the JNRC.
